Cashless island project of Yoron island starts!

- About 100 stores in Yoron-cho, Oshima-gun, Kagoshima prefecture introduce "PayPay" -

 Yoron Tourist Information Office (Chairperson of the Board: Shinkou Nagai) and PayPay Corporation (President and CEO: Ichiro Nakayama) will jointly start “Cashless island project of Yoron island (hereinafter, “the project”)” to promote cashless in Yoron island (Yoron-cho, Oshima-gun, Kagoshima Prefecture).

 The project strongly promotes cashless within the island under the leadership of Yoron Tourist Information Office. Specifically, we will aim at full-fledged cashless island to realize improvement of convenience of islanders and tourists, revitalization of their purchase, and labor saving of accounting work in the merchants by introducing the smartphone payment service “PayPay” to about 100 stores. Furthermore, we will hold advantageous events and campaigns, etc. by cashless payment.

 In “The 28th Yoron Marathon 2019” to be held on March 10, in addition to distributing “PayPay” original goods to participants, we will introduce “PayPay” to all the goods sale booths at the goal point for advertisement.

 PayPay Corporation will provide a convenience of smartphone payment to all retailers, service providers and users, aiming at a world where you can shop cashless anywhere in Japan.

■ Main features of “PayPay”:

You can choose instrument used from two types: eMoney (“PayPay” eMoney or “Yahoo!Money”) or a credit card.

It supports 2 kinds of payment methods: ” User scan” method in which user reads QR code presented by a merchant with app, and “Store scan” method in which merchant reads bar code (one-dimensional bar code, QR code) presented by user on cash register.
