PayPay Corporation will introduce “PayPay” smartphone payment service on April 17, 2019 to 32 AEON (* 1) stores in the Kanto region and Yamanashi Prefecture. Thus, “PayPay ” will be available at the food, clothing, and daily goods sections (* 2) at the AEON’s target stores. We will continue to increase the number of AEON stores where “PayPay” is available. “PayPay” is the first domestic QR code settlement service introduced domestically to AEON stores across
Japan.
In addition, from April 17 on which “PayPay” is introduced to AEON, we will implement the “PayPay Starts at AEON Campaign” (AEON De Hajimaru Campaign in Japanese) (* 3) in which users can get a good deal in shopping.
”PayPay Starts at AEON Campaign” is a campaign that grants a PayPay bonus corresponding to up to 20% (* 4) of a payment amount when a user uses “PayPay” smartphone payment service at a target AEON store, and a bonus grant rate differs depending on a payment method. Furthermore, from April 25, 2019, customers who have an account with AEON Bank will be able to put (deposit) money into PayPay Balance by registering their account as a Yahoo! Wallet deposit account on the PayPay app.

＜Overview of “PayPay Starts at AEON Campaign”＞

A PayPay bonus corresponding to up to 20% of a payment amount is granted. For a bonus grant rate, in the case of a payment from PayPay Balance or Yahoo! Money, a PayPay bonus corresponding to 20% of a paid amount will be granted. In the case of a payment by credit card, a PayPay bonus corresponding to 10% of a paid amount will be granted. An upper limit of the PayPay bonus granted during this campaign is equivalent to a total of 20,000 yen per person during the campaign period, regardless of payment method, and the upper limit of the PayPay bonus granted per payment is equivalent to 1,000 yen. In addition, if another campaign sponsored by PayPay Corporation is being implemented during the campaign period, only a campaign in which a granted amount is the most favorable will be applied, depending on the status of a person who has used PayPay settlement.

April 17, 2019 (Wed.) 9:00 a.m. – May 31, 2019 (Fri) 11:59 p.m.
Eligible persons:
All persons who have paid using “PayPay” at AEON’s target stores where “PayPay” is available during the campaign period
* Specialty stores (such as Softbank shops) in AEON where “PayPay” is already available are not subject to this campaign.
*A case of a payment using “Alipay” is not subject to this campaign .
Grant time:
The PayPay bonus will be granted around the 20th day of a month following a settlement month. However, the timing of the grant may be delayed depending on the customer’s usage status and system’s convenience.
* If PayPay Corporation determines that a fraudulent act has been performed on the basis of circumstances of transactions, cancellations, and others the granting of the PayPay bonus will be voided.
■ Main features of “PayPay”
E-money (“PayPay Balance” or “Yahoo! Money”) and credit cards are available as payment methods, depending on the user’s choice.
The service provides two payment methods – user scan (scan payment) method in which users read the QR code of a merchant store using the app and store scan (code payment) method in which a member store reads the barcode or the QR code displayed by a user on the app at the store cash registers, chosen by the merchant store.
