PayPay Corporation (“PayPay Co.”), a joint venture established by SoftBank Corp. and Yahoo Japan Corporation, today added a new feature, which allows users to split the bill with other PayPay users, to its PayPay app. With this, users can also send different bills to their intended receivers, in addition to splitting the bill evenly.
On the Home screen of the PayPay app, users can split the bill into two or more bills and pay(*1) the bill they received. Users can also create events when they split the bill, so that the billing user can check which bill is paid. If the bill is split into too many, users can manage the status of payments by simple taps.

For many users to experience how easy the Split feature is, PayPay Co. runs the “Split the Bill & Win 10,000 Yen Campaign”, starting April 26 through May 6, 2019. The campaign offers PayPay bonuses of up to 10,000 yen by lottery when : (a) Users split the bill; (b) The total amount of receivers'(*2) bills is 5,000 yen or more; and (c) All receivers paid their bills. During the campaign, a total PayPay bonus of worth up to 1000,000 yen is offered every day by lottery. The special gifts are offered to billing users.

Bonus day:
PayPay bonuses are given after winners are chosen every day among users who split the bill where all receivers completed the payment process on the previous day. The bonus day may be delayed due in part to user payments or reasons on the system side.
