PayPay Corporation (“PayPay Co.”, “we”, “our” or “us”), a joint venture owned by SoftBank Group Corp., SoftBank Corp. and Yahoo Japan Corporation, makes changes in names and periods of validity on PayPay Balances, effective July 29, 2019. Specifically, “PayPay Lite” will be renamed “PayPay Money Lite”, and “PayPay Bonus Mini” will be renamed “PayPay Bonus Lite”. Meanwhile, effective periods of validity, which is five years for “PayPay Lite” and two years for “PayPay Bonus”, will be removed. Instead, “PayPay Money Lite” and “PayPay Bonus” will be valid for indefinite periods, respectively.
<Types of PayPay Balances available on and after July 29>
PayPay Money Lite: Balances that are recharged from bank accounts or other assets, or those recharged from auction revenue in YAHUOKU!. PayPay Money Lite is valid for an indefinite period. By using PayPay Money Lite, users can send money to other PayPay users and also use the Warican feature but users cannot send money to their bank accounts (withdrawal of money).
PayPay Bonus: Balances that are offered when special gifts or campaigns are applied to payments, among other opportunities. PayPay Bonus is valid for an indefinite period.
PayPay Bonus Lite: Short-term balances that are offered when special gifts or campaigns are applied to payments, among other opportunities. PayPay Bonus Lite expires 60 days after it is offered.
<A type of PayPay Balances that will be available on or after September 30>
PayPay Money:Balances, which will be available after integration of Yahoo! Money into PayPay.*1 To use PayPay Money, users need to complete procedures for identity verification, as specified by PayPay Co. By using PayPay Money, users can send money to their bank accounts. Balances recharged from bank accounts or other assets become available as “PayPay Money”.
