“PayPay Coupon” Offerings to Center on Restaurant Chains in February; Coupons from Matsuya, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Yoshinoya, and Others

PayPay Corporation, a joint venture of SoftBank Group Corp., SoftBank Corp., and Yahoo Japan Corporation, is pleased to announce that coupons that can be used with major merchants including Matsuya, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Yoshinoya, and Hamazushi will be available as a “PayPay Coupon (Total Payment Type)”, a feature in the cashless payment service “PayPay”, as of February 1, 2021 to February 28, 2021.

Kentucky Fried Chicken A PayPay Bonus worth up to 10% will be granted for payments of 500 yen (tax included) or more for payments using “PayPay” at eligible stores. (Grant limit : Up to worth 200 yen / payment)
COCO’S A PayPay Bonus worth up to 10% will be granted for payments of 500 yen or more for payments using “PayPay” at eligible stores. (Grant limit : Up to worth 10,000 yen / payment)
Denny’s A PayPay Bonus worth up to 100 yen will be granted for payments of 1,000 yen or more for payments using “PayPay” at eligible stores. (Grant limit : Up to worth 100 yen / payment)
Hanamaruudon A PayPay Bonus worth up to 10% will be granted for payments of 100 yen or more for payments using “PayPay” at eligible stores. (Grant limit : Up to worth 300 yen / payment)
Hamazushi A PayPay Bonus worth up to 10% will be granted for payments of 500 yen or more for payments using “PayPay” at eligible stores. (Grant limit : Up to worth 10,000 yen / payment)
Hidakaya A PayPay Bonus worth up to 10% will be granted for payments of 500 yen or more for payments using “PayPay” at eligible stores. (Grant limit : Up to worth 10,000 yen / payment)
Matsuya A PayPay Bonus worth up to 10% will be granted for payments of 30 yen (tax included) or more for payments using “PayPay” at eligible stores. (Grant limit : Up to worth 200 yen / payment) *Only applicable for ticket vending machines
Yoshinoya A PayPay Bonus worth up to 10% will be granted for payments of 300 yen or more for payments using “PayPay” at eligible stores. (Grant limit : Up to worth 5,000 yen / payment)

* A wide variety of coupons other than those listed in the table will be offered from February 1. The details of each coupon are available from the “Coupon” icon in the PayPay app.

“PayPay Coupon” will be automatically applied to “PayPay” payments at eligible stores once the user claims a coupon in the “PayPay” app. There is no need to open any app other than “PayPay” to present the coupon, which enables an efficient payment experience with access to the good deals. New coupons will be issued within “PayPay Coupon” on a regular basis, provided by both major merchants and individual stores, from a wide range of industries including restaurants, apparel stores, general merchandise stores, electronics stores, beauty salons etc.​ ​

<How to Use PayPay Coupons>

Claiming a coupon :

Open the PayPay app, tap on the “Coupons” icon, and find a coupon of interest from “Search Latest Coupons”. Follow the store, then claim the coupon. The coupon that is claimed will be automatically applied to a payment using “PayPay” at the relevant store.

Checking coupons already claimed :​ ​

Open the PayPay app and tap on the “Coupons” icon to see a list of coupons from “All My Coupons”. Individual details can be checked by tapping on each coupon.

Confirm whether a coupon has been used :​ ​

After paying, tap “Breakdown” to see the details of the benefit in the “Coupon Usage” section.

* PayPay provides 4 types of PayPay balance: PayPay Money, PayPay Money Lite, PayPay Bonus and PayPay Bonus Lite. PayPay money can be used for payments at partner services and merchants as long as the amount is within the amount deposited into the PayPay account opened after verifying your identity. It can also be used for sending and receiving money between PayPay users free of charge. PayPay can also be cashed out to a designated bank account (no withdrawal fee if using Japan Net Bank). The legal nature of this is an electromagnetic record which can be used to pay for goods and other services, and can be remitted or cashed out, issued by PayPay who is a Fund Transfer Operator registered under Article 37 of the Act on Fund payment. PayPay Money Lite is an e-money issued by PayPay, which can be purchased and used to pay for services and merchants. PayPay users can transfer and receive PayPay Money Lite free of charge. The legal nature of this is a prepaid payment instrument issued by PayPay (Article 3, Paragraph 1 of the Payment Services Act). In addition, PayPay Bonus and PayPay Bonus Lite, which are granted through campaigns and promotions when using PayPay, can be used for partner services and merchants in addition to PayPay Money and PayPay Money Lite.
