“Win in the Seven-Eleven App! PayPay Jumbo”​ ​

Seven-Eleven Japan Co., Ltd. (HQ: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Fumihiko Nagamatsu) and PayPay Corporation (HQ: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President & Representative Director, CEO, Corporate Officer: IchiroNakayama) will host a “Win in the Seven-Eleven App! PayPay Jumbo” campaign in which, customers who make a payment at Seven-Eleven stores anywhere in the country using “PayPay” from within the “Seven-Eleven App” will be entered into a lottery, with a chance to win up to 10 times (1,000%) the amount paid as a PayPay Bonus (grant limit: 100,000 yen equivalent per transaction and period) between March 29 (Mon) to April 27 (Tue), 2021.
This is the second campaign to commemorate the launch of the cashless payment service PayPay within the “Seven-Eleven App”.

Payments using PayPay from within the “Seven-Eleven App” will not require the scanning of the membership code, and will be eligible for the grant of miles, badges, points collective campaign bar, as well as being subject to PayPay STEP.

Seven-Eleven Japan and PayPay will continue to enrich the service to provide further convenience to customers, and look into further campaigns to make shopping even more enjoyable.

* Payments using “PayPay” in the “Seven-Eleven App” will also be counted as part of “PayPay STEP”.

Campaign details:

By paying for merchandise sold in any Seven-Eleven store nationwide during the campaign using “PayPay” from within the “Seven-Eleven App,” the user will be entered into a lottery upon the payment. There will be a chance to win one of the following at a probability of once in every three payments. A PayPay Bonus in the amount of 10 times of the amount paid (1,000%) as the first prize, the full amount paid (100%) as the second prize and 1% of the amount paid as the third prize (grant limit: 100,000 yen equivalent per transaction and period). The result of the lottery can be checked on the screen immediately after the payment, and will be notified together with an animation and sound effects.

* Payments made using the “PayPay App” are not eligible for this campaign.

* To pay with PayPay from the Seven-Eleven app, PayPay Balance, credit card, or PayPay Pay Later (lump-sum payment) are the payment methods available.

* Payment methods such as credit cards and PayPay Pay Later (lump-sum payment) require registration in advance in the PayPay app.

* Payments made with credit cards other than Yahoo! JAPAN Cards are not eligible for the campaign.

Grant date:

30 days from the day following the payment date. 

* As a general rule, a PayPay Bonus will be granted 30 days after the day following the payment date. However, the date of grant may be delayed depending on the user’s usage condition and system circumstances.

* The PayPay Bonus that is granted can be used in the official PayPay Store and official YJ Card Store. It cannot be cashed out or sent to other users.

■About the “Seven-Eleven App”

The Seven-Eleven App was launched in June 2018 as a smartphone app designed to provide a fun and profitable experience through daily shopping at Seven-Eleven stores.
Users can shop and save by presenting their membership code to earn badges and Seven Miles. The service facilitates active communication with users by sending out coupons, information about new products and various promotions.

■Characteristics of “PayPay”, the cashless payment service provided by PayPay Corporation

PayPay is a cashless payment service expanding across the country, available not only at major chain stores but also at small and medium size retailers, vending machines, taxis and even public transportation. It can also be used in a variety of other scenes, including paying for online services and utility bills. PayPay is also expanding its range of services beyond just payments, including a “send/receive” feature (remittance/transfer and receiving of money) that allows users to transfer their PayPay balance (PayPay Money and PayPay Money Lite) between each other for free, or “bonus management”, a service that allows users access to a simulated investment experience involving the exchange of PayPay Bonus with points provided by a Type 1 Financial Instruments Business Operator that PayPay partners with. The company also strives to create a safe and convenient environment for users through a hotline available 24/7 and a full compensation scheme ensuring, compensation for any damages that may be suffered.

* “PayPay” provides 4 types of PayPay balance: PayPay Money, PayPay Money Lite, PayPay Bonus and PayPay Bonus Lite. PayPay Money can be used to pay for partner services and merchants as long as it is within the amount deposited into the PayPay account opened after completing an identity verification process. It can also be used for sending and receiving money between PayPay users free of charge. PayPay Money can also be cashed out to a designated bank account (no withdrawal fee if using The Japan Net Bank). The legal nature of this is an electromagnetic record which can be used to pay for goods and other services, and can be remitted or cashed out, issued by the Company who is a Fund Transfer Operator registered under Article 37 of the Act on Fund payment. PayPay Money Lite is an electronic money issued by PayPay, which can be purchased and used to pay for services and merchants. PayPay users can transfer and receive PayPay Money Lite free of charge. The legal nature of this is a prepaid payment instrument issued by PayPay (Article 3, Paragraph 1 of the Payment Services Act). In addition, PayPay Bonus and PayPay Bonus Lite, which are granted through campaigns and promotions when using PayPay, can be used for partner services and merchants in addition to PayPay Money and PayPay Money Lite.  However, PayPay Bonus and PayPay Bonus Lite cannot be sent or transferred between PayPay users or be cashed out. PayPay Bonus Lite has an expiration date, after which date it will expire.
PayPay also strives to create a safe and secure environment for users. If an unexpected payment is made by a third person using a PayPay account, or if a request to settle a payment suddenly arrives from PayPay to a user that does not have a PayPay account, there is a scheme that ensures compensation for the damages suffered (the difference will be provided as compensation in the event that compensation if also provided by another third party), given the prescribed conditions are met.
