How to use “PayPay Pickup” (Japanese):https://paypay.ne.jp/guide/pickup/

On July 7, 2021, PayPay Corporation has added 1,378 izakayas (Japanese pubs)* operated by MONTEROZA Co., ltd. (head office: Musashino City, Tokyo, CEO: Teruhiro Ogami, hereinafter MONTEROZA) to the rank of shops that have adopted “PayPay Pickup.” This is a service that allows customers to pre-order their meals in the “PayPay” app and collect them at a store. This is the first time that PayPay Pickup has become available in more than 1,000 izakaya chain stores with a nationwide presence.

In addition, there will be a campaign to celebrate the expansion of PayPay Pickup. As its first edition, PayPay will carry out the “Up to 10% back with PayPay Pickup at applicable stores” campaign from August 1 to August 31, where anyone who uses “PayPay Pickup” at applicable stores will receive up to 10% of the payment amount as a PayPay Bonus (grant limit: 500 yen/pickup, 10,000 yen/period). The stores run by MONTEROZA, which newly adopted PayPay Pickup, will also be part of the campaign. The second edition is to be determined, but there will be notifications as soon as details are determined.

* The MONTEROZA chain stores have implemented “PayPay Pickup” using the order entry system (OES) provided by idearecord, inc. Applicable stores can be checked from within PayPay Pickup.

42 brands, including Shirokiya, Uotami, Warawara, Mekiki no Ginji, Sennen no Utage, Yamauchi Nojo, Tori no George, Bariyasu Sakaba, Kita no Ichiba, Bungotakada-dori Sakaba, Fukufukuya, Horumon Oideya, and Karaage no Tetsujin

“PayPay Pickup” is a pre-order service for restaurants that do takeout and for customers who use the restaurants’ takeout service. Users can place orders through “PayPay” from home, schools, offices, and anywhere else, and receive their meals without having to wait in the restaurant.

By using “PayPay Pickup,” izakayas and restaurants can create new sales opportunities, as their operations are limited due to requests from the government or local government to reduce opening hours. Users can efficiently take out their meals, thus minimizing the time spent in the restaurant and contact with other customers. Consequently, this will also lead to preventing the spread of infectious diseases, such as COVID-19.

PayPay will continue to offer the convenience of cashless payments to users as well as all kinds of retailers and service providers, with the goal of creating a world in which a safe cashless shopping experience can be enjoyed anywhere in Japan. “PayPay” will continue on the path to evolve from a “payment app” into a “super app” that will make users’ lives richer and more convenient, fostering a culture of “Anytime, Anywhere with PayPay.”
