PayPay Corporation (hereinafter “PayPay”), Yahoo Japan Corporation (hereinafter “Yahoo! JAPAN”), and SoftBank Corp. (hereinafter “SoftBank”) will hold “Celebrating 50 Million Users! Cho PayPay Matsuri (Super PayPay Festival)” from today to December 28 to commemorate the cashless payment service “PayPay” reaching 50 million registered users on August 18, 2022*1. This is a large-scale campaign that allows savings on purchases at PayPay merchants nationwide and online stores.

“Celebrating 50 Million Users! Cho PayPay Matsuri” is the general term for all the campaigns organized by each partner company, and in addition to the campaigns already announced, the following will also be implemented.
In addition to “Chance to Win All Over Japan! Super PayPay Jumbo” and “Cho PayPay Matsuri: PayPay Coupons,” PayPay will hold “50% Back for First-Time and First-in-a-Long-While PayPay Use on Uber Eats Campaign” and other such events. During the Cho PayPay Matsuri, Yahoo! JAPAN will be giving special offers on its services, including Yahoo! JAPAN Shopping. In this shopping service, which was relaunched on October 12, users can save 5% of their purchase price every day with “Earn 5% Every Day With PayPay” (subject to a cap) during the campaign period from November 1 to 30, and can even earn an additional 5% on November 29 and 30 for a total of PayPay Points worth 10% of the purchase price (the last day is until 25:59 on November 30). For SoftBank smartphone users*2, SoftBank offers Super PayPay Coupons*3 that will return up to half the paid amount*4 in PayPay Points when they pay with PayPay at merchants participating in the campaign. During the Cho PayPay Matsuri, SoftBank will continue to offer Super PayPay Coupons that can be used at various merchants to save on purchases. The coupon will not be applied to payments made using the Alipay (支付宝) app or LINE Pay, even if payments are made by scanning the PayPay QR code (PayPay usage benefits also will not apply). The PayPay Points will be granted 30 days from the day following the payment date. PayPay Points can also be used at the official PayPay or PayPay Card store. It cannot be cashed out or transferred.

* “PayPay” provides 4 types of PayPay balance: PayPay Money, PayPay Money Lite, PayPay Points and PayPay Bonus Lite. PayPay Money can be used to pay for partner services and merchants if it is within the amount deposited into the PayPay account opened after completing an identity verification process. It can also be used for sending and receiving money between PayPay users free of charge. PayPay Money can also be cashed out to a designated bank account (no withdrawal fee if using PayPay Bank).
