PayPay Points Available for Credit (Pay Later) Payments!

- Payments combining PayPay Gift Vouchers and PayPay Balance also available, adding further payment options for an even more convenient "PayPay" -

PayPay Corporation (hereinafter “PayPay”) is pleased to announce that from early December this year, PayPay Points will be available for payments made with Credit (Pay Later) in the cashless payment service “PayPay.” In addition, when using PayPay Gift Vouchers, which can be used at eligible stores in specific regions as a gift for donations in furusato nozei (hometown tax donation program), it will be possible to make split payments with PayPay Balance. This provides users with more payment options, making “PayPay” an even more convenient tool.

Previously, users could combine PayPay Points when paying with PayPay Balance, but now the points will also be available for Credit (Pay Later) payments. When a user pays with Credit (Pay Later) and enables “Use PayPay Points” in the payment screen, the points will be given priority in the payment.

PayPay Gift Vouchers could only be used on their own, but from now on they can be combined with PayPay Balance. Users can enjoy the enhanced usability of the gift vouchers, as they will be able to split their payments using PayPay Gift Vouchers and PayPay Balance to make a single payment even if the remaining amount of a PayPay Gift Voucher is less than the purchase amount.

<How to combine PayPay Gift Voucher and PayPay Balance>

(1) If the setting for PayPay Gift Vouchers is “Use Automatically”*

If the remaining balance in the PayPay Gift Voucher is less than the payment amount, users can pay the difference with PayPay Balance. However, even if the user has enabled “Use Automatically” for PayPay Gift Vouchers, if the user has Credit (Pay Later) prioritized as the payment method and the balance of PayPay Gift Vouchers is insufficient, the full amount will be paid with Credit.

* For more information on “Use Automatically,” please visit here. It can be disabled at any time from the Settings page.

(2) If “Use Automatically” is disabled for PayPay Gift Vouchers

When a user selects PayPay Gift Voucher as their payment method, PayPay Balance will be automatically chosen. If the balance of the PayPay Gift Voucher is less than the payment amount, PayPay Balance will be used for the deficient amount to complete the transaction.

PayPay will continue to strive for a world where users and all types of restaurants and service providers can enjoy the convenience of cashless payments and confidently use the cashless payment service, evolving “PayPay” from a payment app into a super app that enriches users’ lives and makes them more convenient, fostering a world where paying “Anytime, Anywhere with PayPay” is a reality.
