PayPay Card Payments Eligible for Cho PayPay Matsuri Scratch Lottery for the First Time!

- Scratch cards acquired through PayPay Card transactions will reflect in the PayPay app in real time! -

PayPay Card Corporation (hereinafter PayPay Card) and PayPay Corporation (hereinafter PayPay) are pleased to announce that “PayPay Card Scratch Lottery(※1)” will be offered for the first time to users who pay with PayPay Card (including PayPay Card Gold) in the Cho PayPay Matsuri (Super PayPay Festival) starting from June 21, 2024. With this offer, users can receive the benefits of the promotion whether paying with PayPay Card or “PayPay.”

The “PayPay Card Scratch Lottery” offers PayPay Card holders who have registered for PayPay Credit within the PayPay app and completed their identity verification a 1 in 2 chance of winning PayPay Points by paying 200 yen or more with PayPay Card at eligible credit card merchants. During the promotion period from June 21 to August 9, 2024, a scratch card will be displayed in the PayPay app after making an eligible payment, which the user can scratch off. First, second, and third prize winners will receive PayPay Points worth up to 100% (full amount), 5%, and 0.5% respectively of the total payment amount (grant limits apply). The chance to win represents the probability of winning a prize for each eligible payment and does not guarantee users that they will win once every two payments.

The previous Cho PayPay Matsuri promotions offered various benefits, such as “PayPay Jumbo” and “PayPay Scratch Lottery,” in which users could participate through “PayPay” payments, and those promotions were also well received by PayPay Card members who enjoyed higher chances of winning by paying with PayPay Credit. This is the first time that transactions with PayPay Card at credit card merchants will be eligible for the lottery. Through the “PayPay Scratch Lottery” and “PayPay Card Scratch Lottery” that will be held simultaneously, users will have increased opportunities to scratch cards(※2)by paying with “PayPay” at applicable stores or with PayPay Card where credit cards are available, even if “PayPay” is not, which will allow PayPay Card members to enjoy shopping even more during the Cho PayPay Matsuri period.

PayPay Card has further strengthened its synergy with the cashless payment service “PayPay” since it became a wholly owned subsidiary of PayPay in October 2022, aiming to provide services that cover a wide variety of payment scenarios. Since January 2023, the number of payments and the amount paid, which are conditions for meeting the regular rewards program PayPay STEP requirements, has been counted for PayPay Card payments, and the added points grant rate is valid for said payments as well.Furthermore, from March 2024, PayPay Card payment information is viewable from “History” in the PayPay app. With such updates, users can now enjoy even better deals and convenience with both PayPay Card and “PayPay”. The “PayPay Card Scratch Lottery” is also part of the effort to strengthen collaboration between PayPay and PayPay Card.

PayPay Card and PayPay are dedicated to improving user satisfaction by creating convenient and valuable services while becoming a leading standard for cashless services in Japan, consistently focusing on a user-first approach.
