The Omicho Market Promotion Association in Kanazawashi, Ishikawa Prefecture and PayPay Corporation jointly funded by SoftBank Corp and Yahoo Japan Corporation will introduce smartphone payment service “PayPay”into about 130 stores in “Umi Choichiba”, the biggest shopping street in Kanawasashi dealing with perishable foods, etc. from March 28, 2019.
The initiative led by Omicho Market Promotion Association promotes cashless of Umi Choichiba in response to Kanazawashi’s policy of promoting the spread of electronic payment in the “New Industry Creation Vision” formulated by Kanazawashi in October 2018.
By introducing “PayPay” into about 130 stores that join the Omicho Market Promotion Association, not only the convenience of the customers visiting the Umi Choichiba is improved but also the burden on cash handling is reduced for the merchants and improvement of productivity can be expected. In addition, the introduction method will be the “User scan (scan payment)” method in which the customer reads the QR code presented by the merchant with the App.

We will also implement Umi Choichiba × PayPay Stamp Rally Campaign in which one lot is drawn with 2 stamps by shopping at the stores for 3 days from March 28 to 30th. In this campaign (available up to maximum of 50% of the commodity price), you may win discount ticket of equivalent to up to 2,000 yen that can be used in “Umi Choichiba” by using “PayPay” payment.
Omicho Market Promotion Association and PayPay Corporation will continue to expand “PayPay” introducing stores, aiming to create further prosperous “Umi Choichiba”.

Obtain a stamp card distributed at various locations in the Umi Choichiba
Shop at PayPay merchants in “Umi Choichiba” and get stamps
Collect 2 stamps and participate in the lottery at the special site, you may get a discount ticket worth up to 2,000 yen (available up to 50% of the commodity price) that can be used for payment with “PayPay” in “Umi Choichiba”
* If you win a discount ticket worth 2,000 yen, you will receive 4 discount tickets worth 500 yen.
* A stamp is obtained for one payment (payment of 50 yen or more is necessary at one time). In addition, you cannot get the same store stamp on the same stamp rally card.
* The discount tickets cannot be used together with those of other campaigns or events.
