Secoma Company Limited (Headquarters: Sapporo City of Hokkaido, President: Tomoyasu Marutani) (“Secoma”) introduces “PayPay” smartphone payment services, which are provided by PayPay Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda City of Tokyo, President and Representative Director, CEO: Ichiro Nakayama) (“PayPay Co.”, “we”, “our” or “us”), at all 1,202 Seicomart convenience stores (as of the end of February) operating under Secoma, starting March 25, 2019.

The Seicomart franchise introduces the Store Scan payment method, where users can show their smartphone displays with their intended barcodes available on the PayPay app. Our membership merchants scan the codes.

How to pay by the Store Scan method

Supporting payments by PayPay at Seicomart convenience stores broadens the options available for using payment instruments at the Seicomart, while further increasing the number of stores available for using PayPay.

■ About Seicomart

■ About PayPay

PayPay provides two types of payment instruments: Electric money (PayPay Balance or Yahoo! Money) and credit cards. Users can choose whichever instrument they want to use.

PayPay provides two types of payment methods — User Scan and Store Scan. In the User Scan method, users hold their smartphones, with the PayPay app being activated, over QR codes available at PayPay membership merchants. The PayPay app scans the codes. In the Store Scan (code scan) method, users show their smartphone displays with on-screen barcodes or QR codes, while PayPay membership merchants scan the codes. PayPay membership merchants can choose either of the two methods.
