“Retty,” a gourmet service operated by Retty Inc. and “PayPay,” smartphone payment service, joint venture of SoftBank Corporation and Yahoo Japan Corporation will partner in service for improvement of convenience for users and to attract customers to stores listed in“Retty” and “PayPay” member stores.
“Retty” is Japan’s largest gourmet service with word of mouth by real name users with over 40 million users. The service has been supported due to real-name and trustworthy word of mouth information of stores across Japan and has been growing steadily since service launch in 2011. “PayPay” with its easy to use application, good bargain campaigns, and a mechanism easy to introduce for member stores being well accepted, expanding users and member stores rapidly since launch in October 2018.
The two companies will partner in service, such as to introduce PayPay member stores in Retty (release scheduled late April 2019) and displaying information of stores posted in Retty in PayPay app and to improve convenience for users and support merchants to attract more customers. Retty Inc and PayPay Corporation will combine and effectively utilize their owned assets and thus mutually promote growth of their businesses in order to create new user experiences and new profit opportunities for member stores

■ Main features of “Retty”
“Retty”, a word of mouth gourmet service which started in June 2011, is operated in a way that people , mainly those who are particular about gourmet, post information of stores they want to introduce using their real name. “Retty” is used as gourmet service by people in a wide age range, mainly males and females in their 20s to 40s, can find the best stores. The number of monthly users exceeded 40 million as of November 2018.
■ Main features of “PayPay”
A smartphone payment service by e-money (“PayPay Balance” or “Yahoo! Money”) and credit cards, depending on the user’s choice. The service provides two payment methods- user scan (scan payment) method in which users read the QR code of a merchant store using the app and, store scan (code payment) method in which a member store reads the barcode or the QR code displayed by a user on the app at the store cash registers, chosen by the merchant store.
