“FUKUOKA PayPay Dome” to be Born on February 29, 2020 (Sat.)

PayPay Corporation (“we”) (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and Representative Director, CEO, Corporate Officer: Ichiro Nakayama) and Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS Corp. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, President and Representative Director, CEO: Yoshimitsu Goto) are pleased to inform you that the name of the Fukuoka YAHUOKU! DOME, the home of Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS, will be changed to “FUKUOKA PayPay Dome (abbreviated name: PayPay Dome)” from February 29, 2020 (Sat.). Baseball player Kenta Imamiya and pitcher Junpei Takahashi will be appointed as PayPay ambassadors in 2020, and both baseball players will do public relations activities of the smartphone payment service “PayPay” both inside and outside the FUKUOKA PayPay Dome.

From March 2019, the two companies will introduce the smartphone payment service “PayPay” to restaurants, merchandise sales, in-stand beverage sales (sales by vendors), wagons, super boxes, and ticket box offices, which helps many fans to enjoy watching baseball matches with convenient and advantageous cashless payments. We will continue to serve as a driving force in the future to strongly promote cashless payments with “PayPay” in the Dome and its surrounding areas, with an aim to offer a convenient and enjoyable stadium for everyone, including a complex entertainment facility “E・ZO FUKUOKA” that will open in the spring of 2020.

“PayPay” is a smartphone payment service offered by PayPay Corporation, a joint venture of three companies in SoftBank Group. Users can select payment methods from e-money (PayPay Balance) that is to be topped up in advance and credit cards and can use “PayPay” at actual stores and online services. Users can top up their PayPay Balance through an online connection with their bank account or at nearby Seven Bank ATMs. In addition, “PayPay” offers various functions such as a function to “send and receive” PayPay Balance (PayPay Money, PayPay Money Lite) between users and a “bill-splitting” function that is convenient for group meals.
