PayPay Corporation (“PayPay Corp.”, “we”), a joint venture of SoftBank Group Corp., SoftBank Corp., and Yahoo Japan Corporation (YJ) will partner with Concur Japan, Ltd. (“Conquer”) that offers an business travel and expense management cloud service, and will start providing a function to apply for settlement of expenses for business trips and so on paid by PayPay (*1) and a service that allows companies to pay expenses to employee by PayPay, as a service for enterprises, from April 2020. SoftBank Corp. and YJ is scheduled to start using this service within 2020.

In a conventional expense settlement method, an individual who paid an expanse needs to perform procedures such as to enter information on the paid expense into a system, print an expense settlement application, put her or his seal on the printed application, and attach a receipt to the application. Meanwhile, a company also needs to perform procedures such as to check the contents of the submitted application and reimburse the expense. Thus, expense settlement is troublesome and time-consuming for both the individual and the company. By performing such expense-related processes through payments by PayPay and payment data linkage by Conquer, it is possible to perform expense settlement regardless of time and place, and the individual and the company can make expense settlement easier and faster than before.

Currently, there are 1.85 million or more PayPay-available places nationwide (*2). PayPay can also be used in various places and scenes, such as taxis, vending machines, and for payments of utility bills. With the addition of a new expense reimbursement function, we will offer more opportunities for users to pay by PayPay as well as provide “services that can be achieved only because of cashless payments”, thus making user’s lives more convenient.
PayPay Corp. will continue to provide the convenience of smartphone payments to all retailers, service providers as well as users, while aiming to achieve a society where they can do cashless shopping anywhere in Japan, with a sense of security. Additionally, we will upgrade the PayPay app from a “payment” app into a “super app” that makes users’ lives richer and more convenient and to foster a perspective “shop and pay anytime, anywhere by PayPay”.
*1 This function is available only for enterprises that conclude a contract with Concur.
*2 As of January 17, 2020. The number of merchants is the number of merchants such as stores and taxis that have applied for a membership contract to PayPay Corp.
* This service cannot be used for salary payments. Before starting using this service, a company is subjected to screening prescribed by PayPay Corp., that includes the confirmation of purposes of payments.
* Companies that use this service will be able to pay by PayPay as well as in conventional payment methods (such as a money transfer to a bank account).
