PayPay Corporation and Yahoo Japan Corporation will release Yahoo Japan’s premium online shopping mall “PayPay Mall” and “PayPay Flea Market”, providing users with an opportunity for a seamless flea market experience. They will become available as “Mini Apps”, easily accessible from the “PayPay” app home screen.
A “MiniApp” is a feature that enables users to make reservations, place orders, settle payments, etc. within the “PayPay” app with services and products that are provided by companies partnering with PayPay. The “MiniApp” enables “PayPay” users to easily search and pay for items in “PayPay Mall” and “PayPay Flea Market”, all from a single icon in the “PayPay” app home screen. Through creating the opportunity for the 25 million “PayPay” users to use “PayPay Mall” and “PayPay Flea Market”, Yahoo Corporation also plans to further increase the user base and improve the convenience of services leveraging PayPay.
Adding “PayPay Mall” and “PayPay Flea Market” as a “MiniApp” is one step in the bigger scheme of becoming a “Super App” that provides more convenience and enriches users’ daily lives through the delivery of various services via “PayPay”. PayPay will, as such, continue to partner with a wide range of businesses. Building upon the “payment” feature already enjoyed by many users, “PayPay” will continue to increase the lineup of features and services achievable only through smartphones including financial services and other “Mini App” features enabling orders following right through to payment and in doing so, establish “PayPay antytime, anywhere”, a world where anyone can feel free to go shopping anywhere in Japan without any cash on hand.
