Payment Service “PayPay” to Become Available in the “Seven-Eleven App” from February 25 (Thu)

Seven-Eleven Japan Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku Tokyo, President: Fumihiko Nagamatsu) and PayPay Corporation (Minato-ku Tokyo, President & Representative Director, CEO, Corporate Officer: Ichiro Nakayama) will make cashless payment service “PayPay” available within the “Seven-Eleven App” after the update at 9:00 a.m. on February 25, 2021. In addition, a campaign will be hosted in conjunction with the launch of the service so that customers can enjoy shopping at a discounted price.

The campaign “Debut Campaign of PayPay in the Seven-Eleven App” will be held from March 8 (Mon) to March 28 (Sun). By making a payment using “PayPay” from the “Seven Eleven App” after registering “PayPay” in the “Seven-Eleven App”, users will be eligible to receive a PayPay Bonus of 10% of the amount paid (grant limit: 200 yen equivalent per payment and 2,000 yen equivalent during the period) between March 8 (Mon) to March 26 (Fri). In addition, on March 27 (Sat) and 28 (Sun), a PayPay Bonus of 15% of the amount paid will be granted (grant limit: 200 yen equivalent per payment and 1,000 yen equivalent during the period).

Seven-Eleven Japan and PayPay will continue to work together on implementing further campaigns that will make shopping even more enjoyable, and continue to keep enriching the service to provide further convenience to customers.

* Payments using “PayPay” in the “Seven-Eleven App” will be counted as part of “PayPay STEP”.

From March 8 (Mon) to March 26 (Fri), 2021, customers who pay with “PayPay” through the “Seven-Eleven App” for purchases at Seven-Eleven stores nationwide will receive a PayPay Bonus of 10% of the amount paid. “Yahoo! JAPAN Premium members and “SoftBank” and “Y!mobile” smartphone users will be eligible to receive a PayPay Bonus of up to 20%. In addition, on March 27th (Sat) and 28th (Sun), a PayPay Bonus of 15% of the amount paid will be granted or up to 25% to “SoftBank”, “Y!mobile” smartphone users and Yahoo! JAPAN Premium members. (Grant limit: 200 yen equivalent per payment, up to a total 1,000 yen equivalent during the period.)​ ​

※ Users of “SoftBank” smartphones are eligible only if they have linked their PayPay account with a smart login enabled Yahoo! JAPAN ID. Users of “Y!mobile” smartphones are eligible only if they have linked their PayPay account with a Yahoo! JAPAN ID linked to the phone number contracted with Y!mobile. Corporate customers, customers using particular devices, customers who are unable to use smart login, and customers who did not complete their initial registration for the Y!mobile service are not eligible. Some data plans are also do not apply.

 * Users can pay by PayPay from the Seven-Eleven App using their PayPay Balance, credit card, or PayPay Pay Later (lump-sum payment).

* Payments made with credit cards other than Yahoo Cards are not eligible for this campaign. Payment methods can only be registered in the PayPay app.

 * PayPay Bonus can be used at the PayPay and YJ Card official stores. Withdrawals and transfers are not permitted.

Grant date:

30 days from the day following the payment date. 

* Only payments made with “PayPay” through the “Seven-Eleven App” will be eligible for this campaign. It will be necessary to update “Seven-Eleven App” to the latest version.

* Payments made through the “PayPay App” will not be eligible for this campaign.

* As a general rule, PayPay Bonus will be granted 30 days after the day following the payment date. However, the date of grant may be delayed depending on the user’s usage condition and system circumstances.

It will also be possible to receive even more PayPay Bonuses, in addition to the PayPay Bonus that will be granted through this campaign, through payments that apply to the “Cho PayPay Matsuri: Up to 20% back! (Up to worth 1,000 yen)” campaign that will be held from March 1 (Mon) to March 28 (Sun).

■How to Register “PayPay” in the “Seven-Eleven App”

Update the “Seven Eleven App” and tap on the “PayPay Button” on the bottom right of the home screen, or, tap on log in to PayPay payments.​ ​

Tick the “Agree” box after reading the “Special Terms & Conditions for the Seven-Eleven App (PayPay Payments)” and tap on “Next”.

Log in with an existing “PayPay” account. Users who do not have a “PayPay” account can log in after signing up.

Check the “Agree” checkbox after confirming the “PayPay Terms of Service (Special Terms & Conditions for the Seven-Eleven App) and tap on “Next”.

The screen will show permission for coordinate of user information. Check the contents of individual information and tap “Allow”.

“PayPay” will become available in the “Seven-Eleven App”.

■About the “Seven-Eleven App”

The Seven-Eleven App was launched in June 2018 as a smartphone app designed to provide a fun and profitable experience through daily shopping at Seven-Eleven stores.
Users can shop and save by presenting their membership code to earn badges and Seven Miles. The service facilitates active communication with users by sending out coupons, information about new products and various promotions.

PayPay is a cashless payment service expanding across the country, available not only at major chain stores but also at small and medium size retailers, vending machines, taxis and even public transportation. It can also be used in a variety of other scenes, including paying for online services and utility bills. PayPay is also expanding its range of services beyond just payments, including a “send/receive” feature (remittance/transfer and receiving of money) that allows users to transfer their PayPay balance (PayPay Money and PayPay Money Lite) between each other for free, or “bonus management”, a service that allows users access to a simulated investment experience involving the exchange of PayPay Bonus with points provided by a Type 1 Financial Instruments Business Operator that PayPay partners with. * PayPay provides 4 types of PayPay balance: PayPay Money, PayPay Money Lite, PayPay Bonus and PayPay Bonus Lite. PayPay money can be used for payments at partner services and merchants as long as the amount is within the amount deposited into the PayPay account opened after verifying your identity. It can also be used for sending and receiving money between PayPay users free of charge. PayPay can also be cashed out to a designated bank account (no withdrawal fee if using Japan Net Bank). The legal nature of this is an electromagnetic record which can be used to pay for goods and other services, and can be remitted or cashed out, issued by PayPay who is a Fund Transfer Operator registered under Article 37 of the Act on Fund payment. PayPay Money Lite is an e-money issued by PayPay, which can be purchased and used to pay for services and merchants. PayPay users can transfer and receive PayPay Money Lite free of charge. The legal nature of this is a prepaid payment instrument issued by PayPay (Article 3, Paragraph 1 of the Payment Services Act). In addition, PayPay Bonus and PayPay Bonus Lite, which are granted through campaigns and promotions when using PayPay, can be used for partner services and merchants in addition to PayPay Money and PayPay Money Lite. However, PayPay Bonus and PayPay Bonus Lite cannot be sent or transferred between PayPay users or be cashed out. PayPay Bonus Lite has an expiration date.

PayPay also strives to create a safe and secure environment for users.
