PayPay Corporation (hereinafter PayPay), Yahoo Japan Corporation (hereinafter Yahoo! JAPAN) and SoftBank Corp. (hereinafter SoftBank) are pleased to announce the launch of a major campaign “Summer PayPay Matsuri” starting today to provide great deals at eligible merchants throughout the country including online shops. This campaign will continue for an approximate month, from today until July 25.
The “Summer PayPay Matsuri” is the general term for a group of campaigns sponsored by various companies. The following campaigns offered by various companies, in addition to the campaigns recently announced, will commence as of today.
From July 1 to 25, PayPay will be hosting the “Summer PayPay Matsuri: Refer-a-Friend-Campaign,” which will offer a PayPay Bonus to users who refer “PayPay” to their friends and family. If the person who is referred satisfies the campaign conditions, both the referrer and referred will receive a PayPay Bonus worth up to 500 yen (*). There will also be a “Summer PayPay Matsuri: Let’s Try Investing! Campaign” entailing the grant of 100 yen worth of balance (investment points) to the amount already invested in the “Standard Course” of “Bonus Management” to users who agree to the terms of service. Also, new themes will be offered featuring the “SoftBank” Dad in a happi coat and “Y!mobile” Futenyan to celebrate the “Summer PayPay Matsuri.” To celebrate also the number of users exceeding 40 million, PayPay will host a campaign by the name of “Celebrating 40 million users! Summer PayPay Matsuri Finale Jumbo” on July 25, which will offer a PayPay Bonus of up to 100% of the amount paid (up to 100,000 yen per payment, with no other limit during the campaign) to those who use “PayPay” for purchases at participating stores nationwide, including online merchants, and win in the lottery they are entered into. In addition, the number of users who have registered “PayPay” under the “Myna Point Project,” a program offered by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, surpassed 4 million in June 2021 (*1). By topping up to “PayPay” before September 30, 2021, users will receive a PayPay Bonus of 25% of the amount topped up to their PayPay balance or 25% of the amount paid using “PayPay” (maximum grant: equivalent to 5,000 yen/period), which can also be used in the “Summer PayPay Matsuri.”
Separately, Yahoo! JAPAN has already been offering special deals & campaigns on “PayPay Mall” and “Yahoo! JAPAN Shopping” since June 23. The “Celebrating 40 Million Users” Summer PayPay Matsuri Finale Jumbo” Campaign will also be applicable in addition to the grant of a PayPay Bonus up to worth 37% (*2) on July 25th, a “Sunday with a 5’” as recently announced. A PayPay Bonus worth up to 500 yen will be granted to both the referrer and the referred once a PayPay user shares a referral code to someone who has not used “PayPay” who subsequently satisfies the three conditions below.
① Sign up to PayPay
② Enter the referral code within the PayPay app during the campaign
③ Complete a payment of at least 1,000 yen (per payment) using “PayPay” during the campaign (*1), after entering the referral code

The PayPay Bonus will be granted 30 days after the day following the payment by which the referred person fulfills the campaign conditions (* 4).
The status of the bonus can be checked on the PayPay app. The referrer will also receive a push notification on the PayPay app when the referred fulfills the campaign conditions.
*1 For conditions ② and ③, the user must complete ② prior to ③ to be eligible for the campaign. In addition, the first payment of 1,000 yen or more made with “PayPay” after achieving condition ② will be counted as the payment that satisfies condition ③. Please note that users who cancel a payment that was counted as satisfying condition ③ will become ineligible for the campaign.
*2 Only users who have registered a bank account or who have verified their identity using facial recognition and identification documents, and who have also completed the screening process are eligible. For more information on user identification methods, please click here. Between 4 to 24 hours is required after the user identification process to become eligible for the campaign.
*3 For general cashback campaigns (campaigns that do not involve a lottery), the maximum amount that can be granted is 66.5% of the total amount paid. In the event that each campaign is applied in duplicate and the total cashback amount exceeds 66.5% of the total amount paid, the cashback amount for the “Refer-a-Friend Campaign” will be reduced. Please note that the reduction of the amount granted by the “Refer-a-Friend Campaign” will only apply to the referred, since the payment must be made by the referred.
*4 The timing of the grant is subject to delay depending on the usage and system related circumstances. The PayPay Bonus that is granted can be used in the official PayPay Store and official YJ Card Store. It is not however withdrawable or transferable. The PayPay Bonus will not be granted to the referrer or the referred if the referred person fulfills the conditions and cancels their account before the scheduled grant date of the bonus.

■ About “PayPay”, the cashless payment service provided by PayPay Corporation
PayPay is a cashless payment service expanding across the country, available not only at major chain stores but also at small and medium size retailers, vending machines, taxis and even public transportation. * “PayPay” provides 4 types of PayPay balance: PayPay Money, PayPay Money Lite, PayPay Bonus and PayPay Bonus Lite. PayPay Money can be used to pay for partner services and merchants as long as it is within the amount deposited into the PayPay account opened after completing an identity verification process. It can also be used for sending and receiving money between PayPay users free of charge. PayPay Money can also be cashed out to a designated bank account (no withdrawal fee if using The PayPay Bank). The legal nature of this is an electromagnetic record which can be used to pay for goods and other services, and can be remitted or cashed out, issued by the Company who is a Fund Transfer Operator registered under Article 37 of the Act on Fund payment. PayPay Money Lite is an electronic money issued by PayPay, which can be purchased and used to pay for services and merchants. PayPay users can transfer and receive PayPay Money Lite free of charge.
