PayPay Corporation (hereinafter PayPay), Yahoo Japan Corporation (hereinafter Yahoo! JAPAN), and SoftBank Corp. (hereinafter SoftBank) will launch “Natsu no PayPay Matsuri (Summer PayPay Festival)” from July 1 to August 31, 2022. This is a large-scale campaign that allows savings on purchases at PayPay merchants nationwide and online stores.

In the previous “Cho PayPay Matsuri,” held in February and March 2022, PayPay users were granted more PayPay Points than usual when paying with “PayPay” at merchants, online stores, and services all over Japan, which was extremely well received. In the “Natsu no PayPay Matsuri,” users will again be able to enjoy savings on shopping with services provided in the PayPay app and on “Yahoo! JAPAN.”
PayPay will be holding various campaigns as part of the festival including the “Chance to Win All Over Japan! PayPay Jumbo” and “Natsu no PayPay Matsuri, PayPay Coupons.” Details on individual campaigns and participating merchants will be announced later on the campaign page.
Yahoo! JAPAN will also be holding campaigns with its various services offering great deals during the period of the “Natsu no PayPay Matsuri.” “PayPay Mall” and “Yahoo! JAPAN Shopping,” will be running a campaign between July 1 – 18 offering PayPay Points. Furthermore, between July 16 to 18 – the final three days of the campaign – users will have the chance to receive PayPay Points worth up to 30.5% by fulfilling certain conditions such as making purchases beforehand or satisfying PayPay STEP conditions (on the final day, the campaign will last until July 19, 1:59 a.m.). In addition, great savings can be enjoyed with campaigns held with other Yahoo! JAPAN services below during the period of the “Natsu no PayPay Matsuri.” Details of the campaigns are scheduled to be announced on July 1. For “SoftBank” smartphone users*1, SoftBank currently offers Super PayPay Coupons*3 that will return up to half the paid amount*2 in PayPay Points when users pay with “PayPay” at applicable merchants. During the “Natsu no PayPay Matsuri,” “Super PayPay Coupons” that can be used for savings at various merchants will be offered as well. The applicable merchants will be announced later. In addition, as part of the “Natsu no PayPay Matsuri” campaigns, Yahoo! JAPAN will also offer exclusive “PayPay Coupons” to Yahoo! JAPAN Premium Members, which “SoftBank” and “Y!mobile” smartphone users*4 can also take advantage of. If users pay with “PayPay” at applicable merchants during the “Natsu no PayPay Matsuri,” they will receive up to 5% of the paid amount as PayPay Points.
*1. SoftBank smartphone users are eligible only if they have linked their PayPay account with a smart login enabled Yahoo! JAPAN ID. Corporate customers, users using particular devices, and users who are unable to use smart login are not eligible. Some data plans also do not apply. *2. Each merchant has its own conditions regarding the grant limit, frequency, and valid period. This campaign applies only to payments made with the PayPay app (regardless of the type of PayPay Balance or whether it is a credit card payment). The coupon will not be applied to payments made using the Alipay (支付宝) app or LINE Pay, even if payments are made by scanning the PayPay QR code (PayPay usage benefits will also not be applied). The PayPay Points will be granted 30 days from the day following the payment date. PayPay Points can also be used at the official PayPay Store or PayPay Card Store. It cannot be cashed out or transferred.
*3. Please make sure to check the applicable stores on the coupon acquisition screen before using it. Confirm with the store the use of coupons for take outs. If multiple campaigns are applied, no more than 66.5% will be granted for a single payment. Some stores are not part of the campaign. *4. SoftBank smartphone users are eligible only if they have linked their PayPay account with a smart login enabled Yahoo! JAPAN ID. JAPAN ID that was initially registered for the Y!mobile service. Some data plans do not apply. Subscription to the Enjoy Pack (550 yen/month (tax included)) is required.
Also, PayPay will hold a “1 Billion Points Lottery” campaign starting on June 1 as part of its continued efforts to strengthen identity verification of users and become a payment infrastructure that is even more safe and secure for users and merchants. The “1 Billion Points Lottery” involves a lottery by which users can win PayPay Points. Users who already use “PayPay” will be eligible to draw the lottery up to 150 times, and users who use “PayPay” for the first time up to 200 times*5
During the mission period between June 1 to June 20, 2022, users will have the chance to attempt all 13 missions and increase the number of draws depending on their achievements. The user must complete their identity verification screening process*6 to participate in this campaign.

During the campaign period, a lottery will be activated when a payment is made using “PayPay” with the applicable payment method, at applicable stores including online merchants. 1st prize winners will receive up to 100% back on their payment as PayPay Points, 2nd prize winners up to 5%, and 3rd prize winners up to 0.5%. Users paying with “PayPay Atobarai (Pay Later)” or “PayPay Atobarai (lump-sum only)” will be entered into a second chance to win the lottery if they do not win a prize the first time.

During the campaign period, every user who applies to participate will be granted an additional 2% of the paid amount in PayPay Points.
