Starting late November 2022, PayPay Card Corporation (head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & Representative Director: Tomoaki Tanida) will start accepting new applications for PayPay Card Gold (annual membership fee: 11,000 yen (tax included)) – a special credit card that grants more PayPay Points*1 compared to the regular PayPay Card. PayPay Points can be used with the cashless payment service “PayPay.”

PayPay Card Gold offers more opportunities to earn PayPay Points in addition to various benefits, such as receiving points*2 when paying smartphone/mobile phone bills from SoftBank or Y!mobile, bills from SoftBank Hikari, SoftBank Air, Ouchi Denki, and Shizen Denki (if billing is combined with SoftBank or Y!mobile data plans), or offering Gold Card users a Yahoo! JAPAN Premium membership with no additional charges for unlimited access to all Yahoo! JAPAN Premium benefits.

Furthermore, new PayPay Card Gold members will receive a bonus of up to 7,000 yen*3 worth of PayPay Points by signing up and using the card three times.

*1 PayPay Points that have been granted cannot be cashed out or transferred. It can be used at the official PayPay or PayPay Card store. It can also be used at any PayPay merchant once the prescribed procedure is completed. See (https://paypay.ne.jp/help/c0021/) for more information about the procedure.
*2 Will be awarded as SoftBank points that can be converted to PayPay Points. See (https://www.softbank.jp/mobile/point/) on how to convert the points. Grant rates and conditions vary for each eligible service.
*3 2,000 yen worth for issuing a new PayPay Card, and another 5,000 yen worth after using it 3 times. The end date is yet to be decided, although an announcement will be made at least one month in advance.

■ Main features of PayPay Card Gold

Goldmine of PayPay Points!

PayPay Points equivalent to 1.5% of the payment will be granted for each PayPay Card Gold transaction*4, 5.

Up to 2% of PayPay Points can be obtained including an additional 0.5% when using PayPay Atobarai (Pay Later) (between 0.5%-1.5% granted by the PayPay STEP program with an added 0.5% as the PayPay Card Gold benefit).

SoftBank and Y!mobile users can earn PayPay Points through monthly payments of data plans etc.

Points*2 worth up to 10% of the payment amount*7, 8, 9 will be granted for every 1,000 yen (excluding tax) paid towards SoftBank data plans, etc.*6

Points*2 worth up to 3% of the payment amount*7, 9 will be granted for every 1,000 yen (excluding tax) (*9) paid towards Y!mobile data plans etc. *6

In addition, a special campaign that users’ families can enjoy will also be held.

By paying SoftBank or Y!mobile smartphone or mobile bills of family members*6 together with the user’s own SoftBank or Y!mobile smartphone or mobile bill using PayPay Card Gold during the campaign, the family member’s smartphone or mobile bill*6 will become applicable to a grant of points worth up to 10% for SoftBank and up to 3% for Y!mobile. The benefits will be granted per contracted line (phone number).

Campaign Period: From the launch of PayPay Card Gold until the end of June 2023 (any extension will be announced by early March).

SoftBank and Y!mobile users can save on their payments for SoftBank Hikari, SoftBank Air, Ouchi Denki, and Shizen Denki!

Points*2 worth up to 10% of the payment amount will be granted for every 1,000 yen (excluding tax) of usage fees for SoftBank Hikari or SoftBank Air (when billing is combined with SoftBank or Y!mobile smartphones or mobile phones)*10.

Points worth up to 3% of the payment amount will be awarded for Ouchi Denki or Shizen Denki (when billing is combined with SoftBank or Y!mobile smartphones or mobile phones) *10, 11.

Unlimited use of all Yahoo! JAPAN Premium benefits

Benefits include, among others, additional PayPay Points equivalent to 2% of the payment amount granted when shopping at Yahoo! JAPAN Shopping and LOHACO (grant limit: 5,000 yen worth per month), PayPay Coupons offering up to 5% cashback (for use at designated merchants only; conditions such as grant limits, number of payments, and expiry period will apply), and unlimited access to 110 magazines.

*4 PayPay Points equivalent to 1% of payment amount will be granted for shopping at Yahoo! JAPAN Shopping (excluding hometown tax payments) and LOHACO. The 0.5% return on payments of merchandise on sale in YAHUOKU! stores may be subject to a different grant method or timing.
*5 Some transactions are not applicable.

*7 The grant rate is applied to every 1,000 yen (excluding tax) worth of usage (10 points are granted if the grant rate is 1% and usage is 1,100 yen including tax).
*8 Includes 0.5% SoftBank points that are rewarded based on monthly smartphone or mobile phone usage fees.
*9 The usage fee of the family member will not be subject to the grant of points if the user pays the family member’s fee in a lump sum.
*10 SoftBank points will be granted for every 1,000 yen (excluding tax) of usage fees. User must enable auto-covert settings to receive it as PayPay Points. Customers using only SoftBank Hikari, SoftBank Air, Ouchi Denki, or Shizen Denki will receive 1.5% in PayPay Points. PayPay Points will be granted according to the usage fee (including tax, fractions rounded down). Some payments may no longer be subject to the grant of points after the end of June 2023 (tentative) such as option fees. Points will be granted to the owner of the PayPay Card Gold when using the card to make a payment. However, if the customer pays the fees for multiple phone lines, until the end of June 2023 (tentative), the combined bill will be split by the number of lines (fractions rounded up) and the points to be granted to the contract owner of each phone line in the combined bill.
*11 The 3% reward will consist of 1.5% each in SoftBank points and PayPay Points. The PayPay Points will be granted according to the usage fee (including tax, fractions rounded down). Also, the grant date will differ by type of points.

*15 Users who have already applied for and received a PayPay Card (former Yahoo! In addition, switching from PayPay Card to PayPay Card Gold is not subject to the signup benefits.
*16 Granted to those who have used the service three times by the end of the second month after applying, counting the month in which the application is made as the first month.
