In response to PayPay Corporation’s commencement of its “PayPay Paycheck” service(※1), various companies within the SoftBank group will adopt digital salary payment, based on the Ordinance for Enforcement of the Labor Standards Act. Starting from salary payments in September 2024, employees who wish to do so will be able to receive their salaries digitally through their PayPay accounts. This initiative aims to enhance employee benefits by increasing salary payment options and to promote the expansion of the PayPay economic sphere across the entire group.
The ten companies that have decided to adopt the “PayPay Paycheck” service are as follows:
SoftBank Group Corp., SoftBank Corp., LY Corporation, PayPay Corporation, SB C&S Corp., SB Atwork Corp., SB Technology Corp., SB Payment Service Corp., PayPay Card Corporation, and PayPay Securities Corporation.
The “PayPay Paycheck” service, which enables salary payments to a PayPay account, is scheduled to be provided by PayPay Corporation to employees of the various SoftBank group companies starting August 14, ahead of other companies. Employees who wish to receive their salaries through their PayPay accounts can apply via the mini app “PayPay Paycheck” displayed within the PayPay app. Upon application, a “Salary Account” for receiving salaries, a “PayPay Money Account(Paycheck)” for holding received salaries as PayPay Balance, and an “Account Number for Payment to the Salary Account” for topping up the “PayPay Money Account(Paycheck)” via bank transfer will be set up within the PayPay account(※2).
The ten SoftBank group companies adopting digital salary payment will enter into the necessary labor-management agreements. Employees(users) will receive an explanation on important matters related to digital salary payment from their employers and be asked to provide individual consent. Afterward, they can apply for the “Account Number for Payment to the Salary Account” to receive their salary. Employees(users) can specify the amount they wish to receive in their PayPay account (up to 200,000 yen) through their employer’s personnel management system. The employer will then transfer the specified amount to the ” Account Number for Payment to the Salary Account ” via bank transfer, allowing the employees(users) to receive their salary as PayPay Money(Paycheck)(※3)in their PayPay account. This system enables employees (users) to automatically top up a fixed amount from their monthly salary as PayPay Balance, facilitating everyday shopping and asset management with PayPay without the hassle of manual top-ups. Additionally, the increased options for receiving salary payments enhance the convenience of managing assets for different purposes, allowing users to utilize the service according to their lifestyle needs.
