PayPay to launch “PayPay My Store”, a new function that allows “PayPay” merchants to easily communicate information to users

- Merchants can post good deal information and coupons and use “PayPay for Business” as a sales promotion tool -

PayPay Corporation (“PayPay Corp.”, “we”, or “our”), a joint venture of SoftBank Group Corp. and SoftBank Corp. and Yahoo Japan Corporation, will start providing, from November 20, 2019, a new function that allows merchants to easily communicate information to users, “PayPay My Store”, in a payment management service for merchants “PayPay for Business” of a smartphone payment service “PayPay”.

In “PayPay My Store”, a merchant can create a store page that introduces store information, and in the store page, the merchant can conduct promotional activities such as distributing good deal information and posting coupons. In addition, the merchant can check reviews gathered from users and the number of followers.

Currently, “PayPay for Business” offers payment management functions such as functions to check transaction histories and sales proceeds, to perform a refund process, and to make a request for depositing money. However, adding “PayPay My Store” as a new promotional function enables the merchant to use “PayPay for Business” as a means to attract customers to their store as well as a payment means.

■What a merchant can do with “PayPay My Store”

Opening a store page

The merchant can open a “store page ” where user can inquire information on a store of the merchant in “PayPay for Business”. In the store page, the merchant can easily upload basic information such as an address,a phone number, and business hours as well as photos such as photos of interior and exterior views of the store and a photo of a menu. Since users can view the store page within the PayPay app, the merchant can communicate the appeal of their store to users who select stores.

Posting the latest information and placing coupons

In the store page, the latest information and coupons can be posted. The posted contents are displayed in “Notice” on the store page in the PayPay app and can be viewed by users. Posted contents are reflected immediately after the completion of screening, the merchant can expect to immediately attract customers compared to conventional flyers and magazines.

Collecting and checking user feedbacks

The PayPay app accepts user evaluations and reviews from the payment completion screen and the store page. The merchant can also view a summary of user-posted evaluations from “PayPay for Business” and immediately reflect the users’ feedbacks in store operation. PayPay sets certain guidelines on evaluations and reviews. User evaluations and reviews are posted after being screened according to the guidelines. In this way, both the merchant and users can obtain useful information through PayPay.

Analyzing follow actions on a store page

Users can follow their favorite stores from store pages within the PayPay app. The merchant can also check the number of users who have followed the store page of the merchant from “PayPay for Business.” The merchant improves posted contents while watching data that is daily accumulated data, thus being able to communicate more effective information.

The functions of “PayPay My Store” are scheduled to further expanded and enhanced in the future. By strengthening connections between users and the merchant, the merchant can acquire fans and improve sales while the users can obtain good deal information on their regular stores.

* It is necessary to update the PayPay app to the latest version (ver2.xx) that will be released sequentially from November 20, 2019. It may take about 3 days from the release date until all users can use (update) it.

■About “PayPay”

“PayPay” is a smartphone payment service offered by PayPay Corporation, a joint venture of three companies in SoftBank Group. Users can select payment methods from e-money (PayPay Balance) that is to be topped up in advance and credit cards and can use “PayPay” at actual stores and online services. Users can top up their PayPay Balance through an online connection with their bank account or at nearby Seven Bank ATMs. In addition, “PayPay” offers various functions such as a function to “send and receive” PayPay Balance (PayPay Money, PayPay Money Lite) between users and a “bill-splitting” function that is convenient for group meals.

■About “PayPay for Business”

Merchants can manage “PayPay” payments from their PCs. They can do following actions including checking transaction histories, sales proceeds, and average unit prices, performing a refund processes, performing deposit processes, downloading QR codes, and outputting transaction histories to a CSV file.
