PayPay Corporation (hereinafter “PayPay”) has newly integrated with additional overseas cashless payment services. As a result, overseas cashless payment services used in countries and regions that account for approximately 80%*1 of foreign travelers to Japan can now be used at PayPay merchants nationwide. The number of overseas cashless payment services supported by PayPay merchants has now reached 35 services across 17 countries and regions.
Through Alipay+, PayPay has newly partnered with seven payment services across five countries (including three new countries), such as Vietnam, from where the number of tourists is growing rapidly. The newly integrated services are MoMo (Vietnam), VCB Digibank (Vietnam), Zalopay (Vietnam), ShopeePay (Singapore, Thailand), SCB Planet Plus (Thailand), HUMO (Uzbekistan), and NayaPay (Pakistan).
Users of these services will be able to pay for dining, souvenirs, accommodation, and more at PayPay merchants when visiting Japan.
This integration marks the first time payment services from Uzbekistan and Pakistan have been added, in addition to Vietnam, from where the number of tourists in Japan is experiencing remarkable growth. Furthermore, by introducing new payment services in Singapore and Thailand to complement existing partnerships, PayPay aims to meet the diversifying payment needs of inbound travelers. Through these efforts, PayPay will drive more customers to domestic PayPay merchants, enhance convenience for international visitors, and contribute to the vitalization of tourist consumption.

The number of foreign visitors to Japan in 2025 reached an all-time high of approximately 42.68 million, a year-on-year increase of 15.8%.*2 Going forward, as further increases in tourists from overseas are expected during the summer holidays, the autumn foliage season, and the year-end and New Year period, a growth of inbound demand and the capture of it is anticipated.
In addition, Vietnam, where MoMo, VCB Digibank, and Zalopay are used, is a nation exceeding 100 million citizens with a large young population, and is also one of the countries experiencing rapid growth in Japan’s inbound tourism market. The number of visitors to Japan in 2025 reached an all-time high of approximately 678,000, placing Vietnam 11th in the inbound visitor ranking (10th from January to May 2026).*3 In terms of travel spending in Japan, Vietnam recorded a high growth rate of 205.5 billion yen, up 49.6% year on year,*4 demonstrating significant growth.
With the aim of supporting merchants seeking to capture foreign tourist demand, PayPay has been creating an environment in which users of overseas cashless payment services can make payments at PayPay merchants since “PayPay” was launched in October 2018. When paying for goods and services with overseas cashless payment services through “PayPay” QR codes, after entering the price in yen, the amount can be automatically converted into the currency of each country. This makes for a convenient shopping experience and the merchants also benefit from a smoother transaction with tourists who speak a different language.
PayPay will continue to enhance its collaboration with payment services overseas to support merchants in benefitting from the increased demand from inbound tourism.
